John Nielsen has been working in wood in one form or another for years. Personally and professionally trees have played an important role in his life. (He is also a certified arborist.)

| Over the past
fifteen years he has fashioned unique turned vessels from wood in his
shop. He started turning wood on a lathe in order to make legs for tables
he was constructing. In doing so he realized the potential for creativity
the lathe held.
His unique turned vessels are a natural outcome of this love of trees, wood and the creative process. By recycling logs gathered from tree surgery and combining them with select pieces of exotic wood, he is able to create something of beauty out of material that would otherwise end up in the fireplace or landfill. |
